Parent and Student Obligations
Rehearsal Schedule
The rehearsal schedule has been designed to ensure it is manageable and not overly demanding, allowing you to balance your schoolwork and maintain a well-rested state. Your attendance at rehearsals is absolutely essential. We typically rehearse for an average of 6 hours per week, divided into 2-hour sessions. Additionally, there are three Saturday rehearsals scheduled from 10 am to 3 pm, and these sessions carry significant importance. Also please note that there will be a rehearsal on February 20th from 12:30pm to 6:30pm (this is a Teacher Workday).
Consistent attendance and participation are crucial for the success of our production. If you encounter scheduling conflicts or find it increasingly challenging to attend rehearsals, we will need to discuss the possibility of adjusting your role or potentially seeking a replacement. It's important to remember that the commitment of each cast member is vital to the entire team's success, and absenteeism can create substantial difficulties during our rehearsals.

Parent Support Responsibilities
Beyond the dedication of our students to the school musical, we also rely on the crucial support of our families to ensure the success of the production. We kindly request that all cast and tech crew participants ensure that at least one family member signs up for a Family Support committee to actively contribute to our efforts. Where appropriate older siblings can volunteer and we will sign off on volunteer hours as needed.
You can find the description of the various committees and roles under Parent Information > Family Support Committees on this website.

- I (student and parent) have looked at the show calendar on the website and am aware of all rehearsals and performances required to be part of the WBMS Musical.
- I (student) will graciously accept any role offered because I understand that every part in a musical is important, not only the lead roles. I will approach my part with energy and a positive attitude should I get cast. I will also refrain from commenting on anyone else’s role and/or their acting, singing, and dancing.
- I (student) understand that if I am cast in the show, it is my responsibility to attend every rehearsal for the scenes in which my character appears. I will be prepared with a script, pencil and proper clothing at each rehearsal.
- I (student) understand that it is my responsibility, should I be cast in the show, to learn the music, dialogue and stage movement by the deadlines given by the director, and that I will need to rehearse at home, not only during rehearsals at school
- I (student) understand that it is my responsibility to be cooperative and attentive during all rehearsals. Should my behavior cause repeated disruptions to the rehearsal process, I understand I may be dismissed from the show, forfeiting any costs I may have paid or been obliged to pay.
- I (parent) understand that it is my responsibility to arrange the timely pick up of my child after each rehearsal. I understand that being late picking up my child is requiring another adult to stay later than expected, resulting in missed appointments and time with family.
- I (parent) understand that every participant (Cast and Tech Crew) will have at least one family member that actively serves on a Family Support committee.
